The nautilus design stacks the shutter louvers in a much more efficient manner which greatly reduces the size of the headrail housing. An average rolldown storm shutter that is 7 feet long would require a cassette as large as 11” by 11” to hold the shutter while retracted, the nautilus for a 12 foot long shutter would only require a 7” by 7” housing or less than half the size of the average. This can be motorized and can be programmed on a schedule, operated from your smart phone and configured to your home automation system.

Accordion Shutters

Vertically hung louvers that are hinged together to form a solid barrier when closed. They are affordable and very easy to operate.

Colonial and Bahama Shutters

Both shutter systems use fixed louvered panels. The colonial shutters are hinged on the sides and are typically held open by decorative shutter dogs and can be closed and locked when protection is needed. The Bahama shutters are hinged at the top and held open by shutter stays and can be closed and locked for protection as needed.
